STOP LOSING WEIGHT! Start gaining muscle...

Posted on August 03, 2012 by Annie Ulichney | 0 Comments

"MUSCLE PLAN" Should be your first priority if you want to lose body weight. The weight you want to lose is FAT, not muscle. Make a plan to increase muscle in your body while you lose fat weight. Your metabolism will stay strong for long term weight loss when you maintain muscle while losing the fat weight.  Your metabolism partners with your muscle to keep your "Burning Power" strong and efficient. The more lean muscle you have, the faster your metabolism will be (and more calories you will burn). You WILL lose your calorie burning muscle tissue while you diet if you DON'T make a muscle plan to add strength training into your program. Stay strong, get lean and gain muscle for YOUR overall health!

Why do YOU care?

We are all motivated in different ways to get to our desires. What do you care about? Answering this question may help you stay focused on the days when you feel stressed, tired, overwhelmed or need an extra boost of.... self motivation.

Your health may be your primary driving force... or you want to get stronger, faster or thinner. Maybe you need to always have a new goal in place to keep your daily focus on exercise and activities? Maybe you make time for biking, hiking, etc because you LOVE it! All reasons are terrific!

Ponder why YOU care about YOU. Keep this in mind on the days and weeks that you are too busy to enjoy activities or too overworked to make the time to MOVE! Stay strong for YOUR sake!

Reason #3: Work muscles, reduce stress

Reason #3:

Your body has chemicals (hormones) that change for the better or worse each day. When you work your muscles (add body weights, use dumbells), your body's muscle tissue naturally reduces the "bad" hormones and encourages the "good" hormones to keep you feeling great. When you have the "bad" hormones in your system, you feel sluggish, stressed, uneasy and worse! Your muscle tissue tries to help you get rid of the "bad" and maintain balance with the "good". Keep the body strong and work the muscles!

Why weights- reason #1

Posted on June 07, 2012 by Annie Ulichney | 0 Comments

Why Weights? Adding resistance against your muscle works the muscle tissue. This is a good thing! The more the tissue gets some action, the more muscle you have, instead of fat. Fat takes up more space than muscle per pound. Over time and as you age, fat accumulates and muscle deteriorates. Your pants won't fit the same way without some intentional effort. You can change this by working the muscle tissue! Add weights to your day and feel your muscles working!
